CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for billing 1200 hours/year
- Comprehensive knowledge of Intellectual Property, including USPTO, PCT and foreign rules and procedures, as well as keeps abreast of department best practices and guidelines
- Exception verbal and written skills with clients, foreign agents and USPTO personnel, as well as administrative and management skills to coordinate invention harvesting, application filings and patent prosecution for multiple, high-tech global patent portfolios
- Prepare and file Patent applications including U.S. Non-Provisional and Provisional Applications, Track 1 Applications, Continuing applications, Design Applications, U.S. National Stage Filings, PCT Filings, PCT Nationalization Filings and coordinate foreign filing responsibility
- Prepare and file Patent Prosecution documents including, but not limited to Notice to File Missing Parts, Foreign Signature Documents, US Formal Documents, responses to Office Actions, Issue Fee Transmittals, and Information Disclosure Statements.
- Create, maintain, and update client portfolio reports identifying status of applications and patents, as well as coordinate client reporting of patent services and deadline reminders, etc.
- Exceptional typing skills; ability to draft and/or edit documents accurately and quickly
- Responsible for docketing and prosecution management, including uploading documents to docketing and DMS systems (CPi and iManage), as well as, maintaining and updating files and client portals
- Effectively set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task (i.e., calendaring, meeting coordination, timesheet entries, grammar, and patent particulars (names, dates, titles))
- Critical thinker who works efficiently, using available technology and strives to make tasks easier and more efficient
- Proficient in iManage, CPi, Intapp, Carpe Diem, Chrome River, iManage, Adobe and Microsoft programs Word, Excel and Outlook
SKILLS
- Knowledge of USPTO, PCT, and foreign rules and procedures
- Proficient in preparation and filing of USPTO, PCT and foreign patent applications and prosecution documents
- Proficient in understanding of IP docket and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe)
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years IP experience (US, PCT and foreign)
- Prior experience with managing client portfolios
- Docketing knowledge and experience, with CPi software preferred
